Sharon Brown
My name is Sharon Brown, and I am a passionate Human Resources coach and consultant. Early in my career I discovered a deep entrepreneurial passion and a strong desire to understand what truly drives business success. I quickly found out that the answer is found in the employees. Employees are the heart of any organization; they are the innovators, influencers, and advocates who propel a business forward. For mission-driven organizations, it’s essential to reflect core values both in how employees are hired and led, as well as in ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices. This is where my passion lies – coaching HR teams to empower organizations through their people!
My drive to serve businesses and value their employees comes from who I am, which is a follower of Jesus, guided by His example of loving and serving others. Jesus’ love has guided me into this rewarding career, and I cherish the opportunity to use what I’ve learned to help others succeed.
Human resources encompass various key areas, to include compensation, benefits, performance management, labor law compliance, policies, succession planning, engagement, and retention, to name just a few. I particularly enjoy training new HR staff and facilitating team-building within HR departments. With 25 years of hands-on experience, I am well-equipped to guide both non-profit and for-profit organizations through these areas with expertise and confidence.
I hold two senior-level HR certifications – SPHR and SHRM-SCP – and I stay current by attending workshops and legal conferences each year to ensure that I bring the most up-to-date information to my clients. In addition to the services mentioned, I also offer coaching on HR audits, investigations, HRIS system selection, and benefits selection and implementation.
